Q. Besides the internet and the Website, are there other recruiting tools available?

A. The United States Chaplains Corps allows its members to recruit others who may be interested in serving  In addition, promotional brochures and media Press Kits are currently being revised and are expected to be available shortly.  Some Public Service Announcements and notices already appear in various publications nationwide. 

Q. Will there be training guidelines available.

A. As the United States Chaplians Corps expands its programs and services, appropriate materials will be published. 

Q. Are  you required to practice?

A. As  will be encouraged to conduct  practices as logistics allow. 

Q. Are 

A. The United States Chaplains Corps is an all-encompassing service organization, providing spiritual comfort and assistance to those in need.    Members also serve as a resource in their community in the event of emergencies or disasters.

Q. "Commander" 

A. Yes.  You may see this question come up elsewhere in the Manual or in our Forum Group site.  The terms "Regional Commander", "Division Commander" and "State Commander" are completely interchangeable with the word     is organized in a quasi-military manner, the term "Commander" is often used when sending notices or directives to the membership.  During times of emergency response in the community, it is preferable to use the term "Commander"; so as to avoid any confusion with those whose assignment may be that of a Chaplain.

Q. Who designates the appointments and ranks for members?

A. According to the By-Laws and Administrative Procedures of the United States Citizens Corps "All appointments, commissions and ranks are made by Headquarters and upon the advice of the Board of Directors of the  Chaplains Corps"  From an administrative and practical standpoint however, the Chief of Staff  reviews all applications for membership and requests for promotion or reassignment and, in concert with the Executive Officer recomendations in support of a specific assignment and/or Rank. 

THE CHAPLAIN'S ROLE
 
1.CHAPLAIN HAS MORE ROLES THAN ANY OTHER OFFICER, ESPECIALLY IN SENSITIVE AREAS.
 
2.CHAPLAIN IS MORE VISIBLE THAN MOST OFFICERS, THEREFORE HE/SHE MUST BE CREDIBLE, BE PROFESSIONALLY COMPETENT, "READ IN" ON THE MILITARY FUNCTION, KNOW THE MISSION, BE CONCERNED WITH THE TOTAL ENVIRRONMENT.
 
3.CHAPLAIN NEEDS TO KNOW MILITARY ASSETS AND SYSTEMS, AND HOW TO USE THEM.
 
4.IN HIS/HER COUNSELING, THE CHAPLAIN SHOULD EMPHASIZE PROFESSIONAL AS WELL AS SPIRITUAL ASPECTS. HE/SHE SHOULD BE A POSITIVE FORCE IN THE COMMAND.
